Join us in a discussion of tower communities. 

Mid-century tower apartments make up the majority of affordable rental housing stock, with about 500,000 units housing up to 1 million people in Toronto alone. Many of these communities face significant challenges.

We will be giving presentations every hour, on the hour, to introduce the history of tower communities, the changing socio-economic and environmental context, and some design interventions that can help reinvigorate these communities.

SvN has been deeply involved in an ongoing renewal of communities as a member of the Tower Renewal Partnership, through Centre for Urban Growth and Renewal (CUGR), in partnership with ERA, and through our ongoing work with public and private sector landowners.
