Our Leadership Team is growing with the appointment of our newest Partner
With over 30 years of experience designing implementable strategies that address challenges in sustainability, affordability and social inclusion, Di Mascio will further advance SvN’s expertise in impactful, sensitive planning and development .
We are pleased to announce the expansion of our leadership team with our newest partner, Pino Di Mascio. Pino brings extensive expertise in developing planning solutions to the country's most significant challenges, including sustainability, affordable housing and social inclusion. His new role will focus on strategically identifying and achieving enhanced environmental and social outcomes in the development process across our existing and future projects. This announcement follows recent hires and promotions made earlier this summer — including the promotion of Aaron Budd, who leads the regenerative practice, to Partner and the addition of Minsu Kim as Design Lead for our growing Vancouver office.
"SvN's diverse team of planners, architects, landscape architects and urban designers understand the challenges that face our cities. Our clients lean on us to provide planning and design solutions that lead to better communities that foster a lasting, positive impact for current and future generations," says Partner Shonda Wang. "We're thrilled to have Pino join our team, bringing an impressive breadth of experience in strategic decision-making, including everything from impactful development and risk management to understanding transparency and accountability in all scales of development. We have admired Pino's work throughout his career and look forward to seeing what he will do to further the firm's role in shaping the next generation of sensitive development."
Before joining SvN, Pino was Head of Impact Strategy and Delivery at Dream, where he helped lead the execution of the company's impact pathways across the Dream Impact Trust portfolio. During his tenure, he played a critical role in Dream's successful bid for two significant development projects - LeBreton Flats in Ottawa and Quayside in Toronto. His previous work with Sidewalk Labs as Director of Planning and Delivery focused on using urban innovations to achieve impactful social and environmental outcomes for the development community.
Throughout his career, Pino has worked with numerous municipalities, developers, institutions, and public-sector landowners and agencies to leverage and manage significant land assets to achieve public policy objectives and maximize impacts. His extensive experience managing projects of all scales, including mixed-use urban masterplans across Canada, positions him as a leader in social impact and realizing the developmental potential of real estate assets.
"SvN is a diverse practice that has gained a reputation for their work with developers that are looking to make a real impact, whether that's through the budding regenerative practice or their role in transit-oriented development across the province," says Pino. "My experience has allowed me to recognize the benefits of SvN's excellent and impactful development at all scales. I am looking forward to applying this to help our clients realize the best solutions and outcomes for the communities they are serving."
