Camille Mitchell Inducted into the RAIC College of Fellows
Congratulations to Associate Camille Mitchell on her induction into the The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
Camille Mitchell has contributed extensively to architecture through volunteerism, leadership and advocacy in several organizations in the design community. Her ability to inspire and lead others, rallying volunteers and fostering a sense of camaraderie is a core strength.
A dedicated and effective advocate for under-represented groups in our industry, she has served as a founding member and continues to advise the boards of Building Equality in Architecture Toronto (BEAT) and the Black Architects + Interior Designer Association (BAIDA). These organizations have strengthened the network of women and visible minorities in design through mentorship, programming, and leadership opportunities. In 2022 Camille received the Ontario Association of Architects G. Randy Roberts Service Award recognizing her contributions to the profession and the enduring impact her efforts have had on the community.
Camille also holds advisory roles at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture and Toronto Metropolitan University and is active in the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada's Promoting Equity and Justice Advisory Committee. Further, she contributes her design expertise through lecturing and by adjudicating multiple awards programs.
We look forward to seeing her cross the stage on May 16th where she will officially be inducted as a Fellow at the RAIC Conference in Vancouver.
