SvN is re-purposing Augustine United Church, built in 1887, to become Augustine Centre. It will include a revived sanctuary for performance and worship, an Early Learning Centre for young children, a home for the NAfro Dance Centre and a new fresh space for the Oak Table Inc. Augustine Centre will bring new energy and inspiration to Osborne Village in Winnipeg MB.
Oak Table Inc. is an outreach mission that offers a safe community setting for Winnipeggers who may be homeless, unemployed, chronically mentally ill, struggling with addictions, or otherwise living on the margins. SvN’s new space for Oak Table will include specialized shower and bathing facilities, foot care, art and computer centres and kitchen and gathering space.
SvN joined Oak Table at its annual fundraising dinner in May, 2018 to celebrate the new design and to welcome a new era of care and community service for the organization.
